U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona (2:21-cv-01423)
Issue(s):
Civil rights organizations challenge two bills introduced in the Arizona State Senate in the wake of the 2020 election which change the state's early voting system. The first, Senate Bill 1485, purges voters from Arizona's permanent early voting list if voters do not cast a mail-in ballot in two consecutive election cycles. The second, Senate Bill 1003, requires voters who submit early ballots without a signature to "cure" the ballot by 7:00 PM on Election Day.
